Nobuyuki Imanishi
Nobuyuki Imanishi is a professor at department of chemistry, Mie University in Japan. He began his research career on industrial electrochemistry as undergraduate student in 1982 at Kyoto University and received PhD in 1993 under the direction of Professor Zen-ichiro Takehara of Kyoto University. He joined Mie University in 1990, where he focuses on energy conversion and storage materials, for instance, electrode materials for lithium batteries and fuel cells, and solid-state electrolytes for those batteries. He spent a year and a half from 1993 as visiting researcher in University of Aberdeen, U.K. under the supervision of Professor Anthony R. West. He promoted to the present position in 2012 and concurrently serves as the director of the next-generation battery development center of Mie university. His recent research interests include two topics: lithium-air batteries and solid polymer lithium ion batteries. He participates in several national research projects such as JST ALCA-SPRING and NEDO RISING 2. He is currently a chairman of the Tokai-area branch of The Electrochemical Society of Japan. He also has been a board member of the committee of battery technology and chaired the 56th Battery Symposium in Japan in 2015.
